Cite, or shut up.
Every claim traces back to a real statute, case, or document. If the agent can't find a source, it says so rather than guessing.
About 8rney
8rney is a legal agent — one that reads the whole matter, cites its sources, and hands the work back ready to review. We're not here to replace lawyers. We're here to give them back the hours they lose between tools.
Why we built this
Legal teams are sharp. The tools around them are not. The best practitioners we know were spending more time managing context — ten tabs, three apps, one inbox — than actually doing legal work.
Research lived in Westlaw. Files in SharePoint. Drafts in Word. Notes in an inbox. Every new session meant re-briefing whatever tool you opened next. The work was happening, just buried under the shuffling.
8rney is one agent that holds the whole matter. Reads the files, remembers the case, cites the sources, flags the risks. We think that's how it should work.
“We're not replacing lawyers. We're giving them back the hours they lose between tools.”
How we build
Every claim traces back to a real statute, case, or document. If the agent can't find a source, it says so rather than guessing.
You shouldn't re-brief an agent at the start of every call. Memory is a feature, not an afterthought.
The agent handles the first pass. Final calls belong to qualified counsel — that's the product, not a disclaimer.
We read every note. If you're a lawyer, a partner, a legal-ops lead, or just curious about what we're building — reach out.
